Haven't tried gin before. Tried rum once, attempted to dilute it with everything, still found it too spicy.

Generally avoid hard liquors anyway, medication keeps alcohol intake limited, and I'm one of those weird people that don't like feeling drunk anyway.

Gin is typically consumed slowly, isn't it?

It seemed like they had a lot of Dutch imports. Amstel, grolsch and heineken specifically. Think they operated a few breweries there. That and black label.

They also had some filthy township beer that came in milk cartons.

Vodka (Stolichnaya(Russian), Khlibnyi Dar(Ukrainian), Khortytsa(Ukrainian) never ever Smirnoff as its crap), Single malt whiskeys (Glenfiddich, Laphraiog) and Havana Club Rum, Possers Navy rum or Lambs.

My first beer was a Bud. I avoid it whenever possible. Ugh.
I like several beers: Sam Adams is nice. A good Dark Guinness is lovely. So is an Alsatian thing called Fischer beer. Spaten, of course. Yuengling is my home town brew.
In booze, Johnnie Walker Black, on lotsa rocks.
Mixed- well, who can say no to a nice Top-shelf Margarita, frozen, with salt & lime?
That's all. If I go on, today will be rather interesting.

Dutch imports makes sense since most of the white population there is Dutch descent. I had heard that they are the wine capital of the continent.

The township beer.....sounds like some of the garbage that was produced in the US during Prohibition.

I brew my own.

I make an Imperial Porter (infused with honey Jack Daniels soaked in oak). I also make an Imperial Stout (infused with honey and Mt. Gay rum).

As for hard drink, I've been weaned on Black Russians.

If that's not enough, my dogs are named Stolichnaya and Sambuca.
