Default 2023 WNBA Playoffs
The WNBA is the premier women's basketball league in the United States. This year, interest in the league was buoyed by record ratings for women's college basketball, as well as the rise of two "super-teams", the defending champion Las Vegas Aces and the free agency-built New York Liberty, who are the top-2 seeds in this year's WNBA Playoffs. This last-minute addition to the Legion Cup calendar, included to increase gender equity, will include 8 teams in a straightforward playoff tournament.

Points will be awarded for the Legion Cup and the North American mini-cup. The winner will also receive a prize of 2 slot-equivalents (2 slots of cash or tech, or $18m in Politics and War aid).

The first round comprises 4 best-of-3 series, all in a 2-1 format (the better seed hosts the first two games). You will pick the winners for 1 point each. Here are the match-ups:
  • (1) Las Vegas Aces vs. (8) Chicago Sky
  • (4) Dallas Wings vs. (5) Atlanta Dream
  • (2) New York Liberty vs. (7) Washington Mystics
  • (3) Connecticut Sun vs. (6) Minnesota Lynx

Picks for each series will be due at the start of game 1 of that series. Times are posted on the official Legion Cup Google calendar (a link can be found at https://www.avelegio.net/forums/showthread.php?t=57051), and they can also be found on the WNBA website and Wikipedia. The first series starts Wednesday at 7 PM server time.
