Re: New York Times to McCain - Get bent
Well, everyone knows the NY Times is one of the most liberal newspapers in existence, so almost anything it prints has to be taken with a grain of salt. Still, that's just fighting dirty.

I'm just surprised John McCain typed it.
Well not really, he does have a lot of time on his hand in the center.

From what I learned, it goes: Communism - Socialism - Liberalism - Conservatism - Fascism I sort of like being a moderate.

American political philosophy has been a bit more warped than other countries. When referencing American politics, you'll find that everyone is smashed into the liberal or conservative category. A moderate in America is someone who is between the two viewpoints.

Re: New York Times to McCain - Get bent
Perhaps a little, but people are so used to institutions like CNN and the NY Times that anything more moderate than the socialist crap you normally see on TV seems fascist by comparison. At least FOX News allows Democrats some face time on their programs, has a number of liberal columnists, and (excepting Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter ) shows respect for their liberal guests. The only conservative guy at CNN that I can think of is Glenn Beck. And the Times has nobody, obviously. Unlike many conservative (and other liberal news/opinion outlets) the NY Times pretends like their news is completely free of bias, and that's wrong.

Liberalism is of course in the middle. So what's wrong with having a mostly liberal news program? You got mostly middle-ground guys and right wing guys. Not very fair to the left wing guys, but then again, there isn't a lot of them.

Re: New York Times to McCain - Get bent
As applied historically, I would agree. However in American politics it works more like a tree diagram. Everyone is either Liberal, Conservative or Moderate, and then Communism, Socialism, etc. are subcategories of Liberals, Fascists and such are subcategories of Conservatives. I've complained about it, but...
