New Phone Time

As part of my new work, I've got to get a new phone. I don't need it to be super powerful, but I will need it to be able to handle both sending and receiving emails, as well normal talk and text. I've never had a "true" smartphone, and I'm not at this point bound by carrier or brand, so I was wondering what you guys would recommend.

But if the iPhone is too pricey, hit me with a price range.

I was dragged kicking and screaming into using a smart phone about 5 months ago. I hated the idea because every time I would touch an iPhone or a galaxy I would wind up thinking "WTF! How did I get here?" And walk off confused by a phone that tried to do everything.
Well I went to a site called Cellular Country and bought a remanufactured LG3 for about $150.00, and it works beautifully. It's large enough for my fingers to type without bungling, it takes fantastic pictures, does email, HAS A GOOD SIGNAL, and I got it cheap enough that I don't feel compelled to lug around an Otter Box.
My kids have the El Cheapo LGs from Metro PCS and they like 'em ok. My LG 3 is working beyond my expectations and I just walked it into Sprint and avoided their new equipment upcharges. Good deal.

I loved both my LG G2 and G3. Didn't know they had gotten so cheap. I loved it, might just pick one up to root. It's a solid phone.

iPhone. It's never been a debate for me, it's the best I've used. It would take something very significant to get me to switch.

For ease of use I'd probably go with the iphone, however much I hate them. I personally love my Note 5 though I use a custom image I found. I miss the days of no smart phones, when I got my first phone in middle school with a slide out keyboard and it was indestructible. Good times.

If you want your phone to work like your computer get a Windows phone. Especially if your budget is lower. Any iPhone you can get cheap is going to be used and likely to stop getting updates soon, and any Android you get cheap is either already, or will turn into after a couple updates, a slow, buggy piece of trash.
