Yeah. I am saddened at FIFA for picking Qatar. I'd have rather seen Japan get it by a long shot... Kinda wish Netherlands/Belgium would have won 2018 as well, instead of Russia. Ah well.

It should never have been the US, they had it in 1994. Having it in Qatar will do wonders for football in the Middle East. I thought Australia would get it by playing the Oceania card since North America, Korea and Japan have had it recently I would also went for Spain/Portugal or Belgium/The Netherlands over Russia for 2018

Where to begin...
 You should have seen the this place after the bid was announced. It was kind of like some of the victory riots we've seen in the US. It doesn't matter what anyone says; this country's infrastructure can't support an event of this magnitude. The 2006 Asian Games were held here and it was a disaster. Give me a little time and I'll put up a WoT that might explain some things about Qatar (for those that have never been here).

Did you see Australia's bid video, It made me almost piss myself laughing how bad it was. America probably deserved it, I do like the Russia in 2018 though.

Should have been the US? Australia should've gotten it because it's the only continent never to have hosted it. However, if it is about pure money - the US should host it every four years.
I think it's utter bullshit actually. FIFA has obviously, since 1994, tried to put the World Cup in places where football isn't the #1 sport and to new places and to areas where football needs a shot in the arm. US '94, South Korea and Japan in 2002, South Africa in 2010. Russia in 2018 now, but seriously Qatar? Logic says Australia. And now we might not get it until like 2042. FIFA are not living up to their motto, that's for sure. "For the World", yeah right. More like "For the World minus Australia". Anyway, Qatar moved the Asian Cup 2011 to January because of the heat in June-July. They cannot do the same to the World Cup. Good luck Qatar, you'll need it. Just so people know - my gripe is not with Qatar, it's with FIFA. Seriously, them? ---------- Australia's bid video was questionable, yes. But they should be basing decisions on the Bid Book and Technical Report, not these last minute presentations. Those presentations are just meant to put the exclamation point on the bid - not to regurgitate what is already known. I thought we did that better than you guys. I saw your Landon Donovan start reading off facts and figures, and I'm like, "These guys have read your bid book already. Tell us something we don't know".
