I'm interested to see how the video game service will compete against Gamefly in terms of price and speed. Otherwise I think this is a ridiculously stupid decision on the part of Netflix and makes it seem that they are preparing to sell their DVD operations completely.

To applaud Netflix on its price increases and overall timing of this announcement, I cancelled my subscription today.

They are losing control big time. I called it when the CEO fucked up by not just admitting why they were rising prices. Now they are trying to pass off that fuck up to this new split off company.

If nothing else, this is great for Netflix's competitors. All of a sudden, Netflix doesn't really offer anything they can't. Netflix is raising prices and losing content while Hulu, Amazon, Blockbuster can all fill in gaps.

Never got an email about the Netflix price hike, they were just going to bill me 2x my original rate starting tomorrow.

I'm on streaming only now but since I have amazon prime, once prime instant works on mobile netflix is gone.

Even faster if Amazon buys Hulu.

It was Dish Network in regard to Starz. Starz instant is moving to Blockbuster with Dish bought out for pennies earlier this year.

However, Netflix pretty much fucked up explaining that to everyone and instead tried to BS around. They destroyed their own brand. They have no one to blame for that but themselves, especially the CEO.

I've had Netflix forever but this shit sure has pissed me off as a consumer. I was a huge fan till this year.
