The NCAA Division I men's ice hockey tournament is the highest-level championship of collegiate hockey in the United States. Every year, 16 teams compete in four regionals for coveted spots in the Frozen Four, which are being played this year in the Twin Cities. Quinnipiac is the defending champion, and they are in the field again as an at-large selection.

This contest is part of the 2023-24 Legion Cup, and it also awards points for the North American Cup. The standard prize of 2 slot-equivalents will be awarded to the winner.

This contest will proceed in the standard 16-team full-knockout tournament fashion. The first two rounds are worth 1 point per correct pick, the semifinals (Frozen Four) is worth 2 points per correct pick, and the final is worth 4 points for a correct pick.

The time turnarounds are extremely tight on this contest. I had a persistent migraine the past two days, so I haven't been able to post this until now. The contest starts about 26 hours from now, and I may or may not have time to post the winners of the first-round games before the second round is played. I will post the match-ups now, and you may, at your option:

• Post your first- and second-round picks now, and stick with them. (Risky if both of your first-round picks in a region lose.)
• Post your first-round picks now, look up the winners, and post the second-round picks before the start of those games. (This is somewhat risky, if you forget to make second-round picks at all.)
• Post your first- and second-round picks now, look up the winners, and amend your second-round picks before the start of those games (if necessary). (This is probably the safest option.)
• Post your first-round picks now, hope that I remember to post results, and post second-round picks before the deadline. (Risky.)
