2020 NFL Playoffs
This contest will run throughout the playoffs and will include the Super Bowl.
You will make your predictions for one round (weekend) at a time. You will earn points as follows: 1 point for each correct prediction in the first 2 rounds. 2 points for each correct prediction in the Conference Championships. 4 points for correctly predicting the winner of the Super Bowl. The winner is the one with the most points at the end of the playoffs. The winner will receive his choice of 200 tech or 12,000,000 (18,000,000) cash. This week’s games are: Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles Your predictions are due by the end of the day on Friday, January 3, 2020. The Texans are a good team, and they should be getting back Fuller and Watt for this game. The Bills have almost no playoff experience, and their schedule is worse than the Patriots (whose schedule I deride below), so who knows how good their record really is? Give me Houston.
This is a scary match-up for the Patriots. They are not as good as their 12-4 record suggests, given their woeful strength of schedule, an anemic offense, and a defense that is good, but probably not great. The Titans are coached by former Pats player Mike Vrabel, so he knows how they operate. All that being said, people don't get rich betting against the Patriots, so give me New England. The Vikings haven't won an important game under Kirk Cousins, who seems to shrivel in the biggest moments. The Saints have loads of playoff experience, home-field advantage, and a bone to pick after the Minneapolis Miracle two years ago. Give me New Orleans. The Seahawks were millimeters away from clinching the 3 seed. Could there be a let-down? The Eagles have won 4 straight games to win the NFC (L)East. Can Wentz finally lead them on his own playoff run? This was a hard one to pick, but teams that eliminate one of my teams this year and beat my favorite team in the Big Game two years ago (and cost me tech) don't get my picks. Give me Seattle.
