somewhere in between too high or too low. australia has a higher living cost then many countries. the minimum wage is enough to get by on and save a little but you won't get a house with it e.g where i live - Sydney - the median house price is $595745

And people wonder why the government can't just throw every unemployed person a shovel and tell them to build a canal; its the minimum wage. The WPA worked in the early-mid 1930's because there wasn't one.

There was a min wage back then. However, the WPA paid less than min wage, to encourage people to find real jobs.

I'm against completely removing the min wage. However, I wouldn't be opposed to lowering it.
