The winner candidate in the presidential primaries here on the island from each party (GOP and dems), gets 20 delegates from the territory to join him in campaigning and stuff and that's pretty much it because, come November no one here will vote for the president. Tbh is probably mostly cash. And believe me, PR richies are known to hand out TONS of money to presidential candidates.

The point of the thread is that this primary was full of irregularities because Mr. Romney and the GOP knows those irregularities will probably never make it to CNN and FOX news or any of those. The statehood party here is also making it publicly known that the poweful people in that party are sided completely with republicans ( dont ask me why, they are probably the least interested in the status problem of Puerto Rico yet look at this freak show today) and that republicans know this island is notoriously democrat so they're trying to win over the population with kind words and "equality" promises.

Another point is my opinion, that presidential primaries should not be held here. It's stupid and an insult.

If it makes you feel any better, even we here in the actual states don't truly elect the president or vice president. Sure we go to the ballot box but at the end of the day it is up to the electoral college, and they don't HAVE to vote for the candidate who got the most votes in the state. So really, we're not even much better off than you in PR.
