Just before we attacked in GWIII, I *loved* the total silence on the BBs from us. We had our enemies defecating bricks. :)

I remember the night the Dove War broke out, for whatever reason I was awake at 3:45 in the morning when the call to escape to peace mode was announced on IRC. Five weeks later was much more pleasant, doing shots of Jäger, waiting for midnight to roll around while me, gayboi25, and Skrewer were preparing to pound our target in \m/. We came a long way in such a short time...

So I have to ask, what do you people think the largest reason so much as kicking was done during UJW?

Much improved communnication (ours), and \m/ was organised as a tech raiding alliance. The usual course of action on a tech raid is to pick on a smaller nation with one hard hit, and keep no money on hand so if things go bad, you don't lose any money. No warchest, no staying power.

Also, while on the offensive, the attacker has the advantage of being able to stack attackers against single targets. in attacking, you are already more or less formed into bits and trips while defensively, you are either stuck on your own or others in your bit/trip are already in a defensive war and can offer limited help.

Since I joined after the war already started I didn't get to join a sqaud. So I can't comment on the organization. But I do know that my $40 million dollar warchest (it was big for 2007) was the difference for me in that war. I was actively fighting 3 \m/ nations. I could replace my airforce they could not. So after about 2 days I could bomb them with no losses to myself. I think some of them got themselves into bill lock.
