Nevermind turns 20
Most overrated album in the last quarter century. Overproduced, too poppy, and bland. I will give it its due when it comes to ushering in a mainstream movement to the Alternative genre but that's about it. It had 2 good songs (Territorial Pissings and Breed) and a bunch of mediocre tracklist after that. Smells like Teen Spirit is also the most overrated rock song ever. Good guitar riff but the rest is meh.

Well its a good album, i wasnt even alive when it was rated so cant say much about that.
I prefer the more classic rock myself, as in zepplin and such.

It's not a bad album at all. It's just overrated because for some reason "Smells Like Teen Spirit" became their most popular song. It isn't their best album by a long shot, but I wouldn't say it was bad.

Maybe anti-pop is a bit strong, but I wouldn't classify them as pop music at all. Just because you're popular doesn't make your music "poppy", unless you define angst as pop in the early 90's. I wasn't very cognitive at that time.
