Default Imperial Overlord of VL Empire

Imperial Overlord of VL Empire

Prime Minister, 2006.12.16 - 2007.04.10
Minister of Defense, 2006.05.06 - 2006.10.13
Admiralty Golden Eagle Lifetime Service Award, 2007.02.09
Charter Convention Delegate, April 2006
Proud Legion Member, 2006.03.04 - 2007.04.10

“VL” has exemplified the Legion character since he joined our ranks in March 2006. Early on, he voiced concerns that affirmed the foundations of our democracy and right to address grievances with our elected officials. With that in mind, VL became a member delegate to the Charter Convention that drafted the first permanent charter of the Legion.

By May, VL had become our Minister of Defense, and assumed command of an antiquated war alert forum. After leading the Legion alongside the NPO and GATO in the Second Polar War, VL instituted a complete overhaul of the ministry, introducing the Admiralty and a ten-cohort system. The statute came complete with a chain of command and structure positions: Chief of Staff, Commodore, Prætorian and Centurion. He included cohorts to handle nuclear incidents and military intelligence.

Always humble, VL posted Defense Ministry briefings in his office, keeping the membership in the loop about operations. One such post indicated his decision to step down one full month before the elections were to take place. However, one incident that tested the system prompted him to retract it.

The Warpstorm Alliance launched callous nuclear attacks on the Legion on 6 July 2006, bringing with it the first significant large-scale test of the Admiralty. While the fate of the WSA was apparent from the get-go (with the assistance of the NPO and GATO), VL's creation proved successful. Its success would be doubled by the stunning attack promulgated by the dissolution of the Imperial Accords later that month.

After three terms in the Admiralty, including a brief experimentation with assigned cohorts, VL ran unsuccessfully for Prime Minister, losing narrowly to Zunea. Two months later, he would re-emerge as the Legion's Prime Minister. And as fate would have it, another Great War loomed on the horizon.

VL steered the Legion through the Second Great War on a path of non-involvement, which drew sharp criticism from several members and both sides of the conflict. Nonetheless, VL ran uncontested for a second term, which would see the Legion free-fall from prestige in his final three weeks.

Honoring the controversial Prætorian Accords with GATO when NPO declared war on them, the Legion charged into war against the Initiative, however targeting alliances waiting to respond a predicted Legion's counter-attack on the NPO. The result proved disastrous for the Admiralty VL created, as it found itself overwhelmed and unable to respond to multiple war reports.

As a true soldier, VL sought to push on, but when the writing was on the wall, VL realized what was required of him and Great Britain to preserve the alliance they both had developed from its infancy. To preserve the democracy that had for so long attracted many to the Legion and brought a sense of prestige and hope to the alliance, VL asked the membership to accept the Initiative's terms of surrender, which would require his removal from our ranks.

VL resigned from our ranks to preserve our way of life. He can never resign from our memories, our ideals, and our way of life. May the Legion remember the sacrifices made by VL Empire and immortalize him in the Hall of Fame now and forever.

Unity is Strength. Ave Legio.
