Seeing the solar eclipse?
I'm not sure where the solar eclipse will be visible outside the US. I've known about it for 7 years and my wife and I were planning on driving into the path of totality but she had the poor sense last year to get employed as a teacher! So I'll have to settle for 88% totality and fashion a pinhole projector.
Anyone else traveling/seeing the solar eclipse?

Re: Seeing the solar eclipse?
The area where I live will have 2:40 minutes of totality which is interesting but all in all I find the whole ordeal more of a meh. Years ago I was excited to see my first eclipse and was left with the feeling that simply it is more hype than experience as there just is not much to see. It isn't something I would put on a bucket list.

Re: Seeing the solar eclipse?
Had 95% here at home so that was cool. Neat but definitely something that would be made better with a few friends and some Sam Adams.

Re: Seeing the solar eclipse?
I used to live a short drive from totality. Here, it was <70%. I brought out my telescope and projected the Sun onto a sheet of paper.

I got to go to Carbondale, IL, which had some of the best viewing for the totality. I'm super glad I went (despite the 3.5 hour drive there and the 5+ hour drive home). It was like nothing else I've ever seen.
