Default 2023 NHL Playoffs
This contest will run through the playoffs and include the Stanley Cup.

You will make predictions for one round at a time.

You will earn points as follows:

1 point for each correct prediction in the first two rounds.
2 points for each correct prediction in the Conference Championship round.
4 points for predicting the winner of the Stanley Cup.

The winner of the contest is the nation ruler with the most points at the end of the playoffs. The winner will receive his choice of 200 tech or 12 million (18 million) cash at the end of the wars.

The first round has the following matchups:

Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers
Toronto Maple Leafs v Tampa Bay Lightning
New Jersey Devils vs New York Rangers
Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Islanders
Golden Knights vs Winnipeg Jets
Edmonton Oilers vs Los Angeles Kings
Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild
Colorado Avalanche vs Seattle Kraken


Your predictions are due by 7pm EST on Monday, April 17th.

"Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild" is a tough one for my metathesiophobic wishful-thinking predictions. Should I prefer the North Stars, a good old team stolen to a non-traditional market, or the Wild, a stupid new team albeit in a traditional market? My North Stars have been godforsaken South Stars for such a long time now that I think I'll go with Minnesota.
