Proud Legion Member since 15.02.06

Lord Swampy has long been a fixture in Purple Team, serving in both the interim Cabinet and first elected Cabinet, but recently has become the symbol of self-sacrifice for the Legion. He arrived at the Legion in February 2006, bringing along with him several friends in a group called The New Dominion. This infusion accelerated the growth of The Legion, and eventually brought Lord Swampy great acclaim. Not only did Swampy receive enough votes to serve as Purple Team's Princeps for ten months, but New Kanyistan worked its ways through the ranks to become the strongest nation in the Cyberverse.

Unfortunately, such an honor would become an alluring target for the heinous nuclear rogues Beepoon, Kehelana, and Usa. Swampy, along with fellow Legion nation Terra de Chat and four GATO nations all at the top, were attacked with nuclear weapons in the first major rogue incident the Cyberverse would face. Although a coordinated effort involving nearly every major alliance would handily defeat the rogues, Swampy's nation was devastated. With the Cyberverse still early in its development, the victims could not turn to one nation and expect massive rebuilding aid.

Swampy would remain committed to returning New Kaynistan to its former glory. In the months that followed, the Legion slowly became intertwined in the treaty webs that plunged the Cyberverse into two Great Wars. With the Senate becoming a more potent political tool, the Legion opted to elect three new senators instead of Swampy.

Around January, as the Legion weathered abstaining from a lop-sided war, Swampy returned to the spotlight, first as the Director of Communications where he infused new blood and enthusiasm, then several weeks later by seeking and winning election as Deputy Prime Minister. His strong-willed resolve in the face of continuous adversity would prove useful to the survival of the Legion during his term. As the Deputy Prime Minister, it fell to him to maintain morale and keep constant communication between Cabinet and membership. When it became apparent that the Legion would have to admit defeat if the Initiative would allow them to survive, Swampy negotiated the terms of surrender. The task to convince the membership and then lead it fell squarely on Swampy's shoulders, especially after then Prime Minister VL Empire was exiled as per the surrender and Swampy became Prime Minister for the short remainder of the term.

Shouldering the burden of transitioning the ravaged Legion from wartime to post-war is a task that no great leader should ever desire. Great leaders are discovered by their admirable handling of such adverse conditions. Swampy's arriving to the occasion when the Legion asked of him—while hundreds of others scabbed when asked to take up arms to defend their alliance—makes his dutiful service to the Legion worthy of inclusion in the Hall of Fame.

May Lord Swampy be enshrined in our memory and hearts now and forever.

Unity is Strength. Ave Legio.

Inducted 1 June 2007.
