President Jack of Melidan

Melidan is one of the most devoted Legionnaires to ever set foot in this alliance. He is one of the rare Legionnaires that has never known any other home, joining The Legion on March 12, 2007, the date his nation was created. He wears the Legion Loyalty Ribbon with pride, being one of the few Legionnaires that chose to stay behind and weather the oncoming storm during Purplegate.

Melidan is the Legionnaire we all should strive to be. He has always worked towards creating a new era, a better era for The Legion. Preferring to work in the background, he has never once asked for recognition for his achievements, preferring to work in the background, and out of the limelight. This is precisely why he should be honored here today. A true Legionnaire does not work for their own gain, or for recognition or medals, but to see their home grow and flourish.

Since Purplegate, Melidan has been instrumental in helping to create the Legion you see before you today. Melidan was elected to the first ever House of Representatives in January 2008, and again in March 2008. Shortly after the January election, Melidan was selected to be the Speaker of the House, as Lincongrad’s replacement. He served two terms there before retiring at the end of his second term. After this, Melidan served as Director of Recruitment, and was instrumental in helping to develop the current system our recruiters use to bring fresh new faces into the alliance.

However, Melidan’s service extends far beyond the traditional realm of service. In February of 2008, The Legion’s forums were hacked and deleted. While the culprit was never found, the need to find a new home for the alliance was great. Melidan and Imperial joined forces and got us these forums you see before you today. Melidan footed the initial bill to set up the forums, out of pocket. Without Melidan’s sacrifice, our forums would not be located at www.avelegio.net.
From date of Melidan’s arrival, he has always striven to be the best Legionnaire he can be. For this and his many achievements, may my friend Melidan, one of the best Legionnaires ever, be enshrined here forever in the Legion Hall of Fame.
