No doubts, I have been watching a bunch of Rome Total War videos and they are AWESOME and the guy is just now starting to do Empire Total War which is a newer Total War and it looks bomb.

Ah this game is just grand. A bit confusing at first, all the options and extras take a little time to get used to (if you're not a regular strategy player, like me.)

I just watched IGN's review of this on YouTube. The naval battles look fantastic. I would love to pick it up, but I have the bad feeling that you need a monster computer to run this thing they way it was meant to be played.

Eh. Just another Total War. I was expecting more options as the game series goes on, like being able to build your own towns, etc. In general more depth.
It's just another 'clone' of the original with some nice eye candy slapped on. They made the move that many other devs do these days; go for graphics instead of focusing on diversifying game-play for a richer more wholesome experience. More of the same with better graphics doesn't make it better.

Eh, that is why I decided on getting Stronghold 2, less graphics but a lot more to running your castles and such than just going to war (although from the screen shots and videos I have seen; the battle don't look bad at all either (not as good as TW but pretty good)
Plus now that the Prince of Macedonia sent me a nasty reply to my reply to one of his youtube TW battles I am turned off of TW for right now.. but I won't go into depth about this unless if you guys wish me to.

But the TW series makes you actually use or create tactics probably never done before...(Emperor)Sun Tsaos Art of war makes a great reference in the TW games xD. But i like stronghold too...the funny thing i was thinking for ETW with the addition of naval battles...they should add in pirates of the Caribbean naval battles xD the Flying dutchmen double tribarrels and underwater travel vs the black pearl lololol then the almighty Kracken vs jack sparrow

a short addition, you do need a monster computer to chug the game to look like it would IRL...to actually see cannonballs and musket bullets fly around alot!

Yeah, my sorry ass 2.0 Ghz Dual processor and 4 GB of RAM wouldn't be able to handle it. Guess I'll have to stick with Rome: Total War.

lol guys, you will find this funny.. I hope..
You guys are talking about Rome, Empire, and Medieval Total War's, well I was diving through my dad's case of games and found a game called Shogun Total War, I thought it might have been a coincidence but it just so happens that Shogun Total War was the very first of the Total War series, and for being made 9 years ago, it is a pretty good game..

Shogun is the only one of the series i've played. it was alright, but either is was a simple turned based strat game (not playing the individual battles) or it took FOREVER (like literally months!) to actually conquer Japan.
It was fun, but it ultimately has led me to not try the other TW games. Are the newer ones any better?

Not really, but in Rome Total War I believe there is a larger map, and in campaign there is sea battle, so that adds in an extra twist. And I think the point of the game; while trying to make you very happy with it, it really wants you to be able to play this for a long time and be able to replay it.
Also, with the later versions of Total War you have loads of new troops and such to utilize and have fun with (like the Onager (catapult)).
Also, I just got Rome Total War after all of this time. And sorry for the grave dig..

Many years ago i was at a friend's house and he was playing shogun but wouldn't tell me what it was so i vowed to find it. about 6 years later i stumble across RTW and am completely addicted since then. As soon as i discovered the relation i wacked my friend in the head since he deprived me of 6 years of awsome games.

hmmm, trying to figure out whether to buy rome total war or empire total war. I played rome total war a few years ago when it was new and loved it. I'm afraid it might be a bit dated now though...

the difference between the two is that Rome Total War is 2000 year old epicness and Empire total war is 300 year old epicness with ship battles that you can fight yourself

Alright, let me find it for you. Do you know how to torrent and use daemon tools and such?
EDIT: This should work, as most of the stuff I get from the pirate bay works, let me know if it doesn't and I will keep looking for you (as I kinda lost my link..) OH, with it you will need a cd crack..
The Pirate Bay's: Rome Total War (http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/3721885/Rome_Total_War.3721885.TPB.torrent)
CD Crack (http://www.freeinfosociety.com/site.php?postnum=961)
For the crack, when you install the game you will (probably) be at version 1.1, you will probably want to update to 1.5, to do this you will need patches 1.3 and 1.5
1.3 Patch (http://www.softwarepatch.com/games/rometotalwardl-security.html)
1.5 Patch (http://www.softwarepatch.com/games/rometotalwar2dl-security.html)
That is all I got for you, as I said, if you need a different torrent, let me know and I will keep looking.

Ok.. So to use the files you torrented (the game itself) you will need something like Magic Disks (http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm), and once you got that you will need to install it and then run it, once it is ran it will be a little disk icon in your icon tray thing. Right click it and go up to "Virtual CD/DVD-ROM" and then "F: No Media" and then "Mount...", once done you will have a pop-up telling you to choose your .iso, find the torrent that you torrented and then mount the first file to begin.
After that it should be simple.
