What gift do you hope to receive, and which gift do you look forward to giving? I hope to get a new microwave cuz our old one blew up, and I can't wait until my daughter opens her new mini-kitchenette set.

ahhh, well theres always something, even if it's a non-material thing, such as love or thanks, or seeing a sick cousin get better, or running into an old friend you haven't seen in years. Gotta love the christmas spirit, sometimes(like this year) money is low and christmas seems impossible, but then that spirit kicks in, and suddenly none of that matters. Once that christmas spirit kicks in, everything seems okay...suddenly words and actions mean far more than material items. Though the presents are nice I have to agree :D

lol illusion, for some odd ass reason, christmas was never like that for me, not in the 12 years i remember of my life, i dont know why but when it was christmas, it was just about the same as any other day except we got some presents then we spent the majority of the day figuring out how to use them or playing them or playing with them, and i kinda wish i did have that special christmas.

You know, I always got like toy robots, electronics...i was into that stuff you know. I had them all took apart by new years to see how they worked lol. I guess thats how I turned out to be an engineer. Even now, if something tears up, even if i can't fix it, i tear it apart to see how it works. I suppose some parts of us never really grow up at all. It's all part of who we are, and some things never change...thank God.

lol, your lucky. i was into taking stuff apart and all that, i was into building, into cooking, and all of that, but my parents didnt focus my presents on any specific thing i was into, they just bought me the stuff they thought i liked or wanted :(

What I liked and what I was into was the same thing. I remember I got this robot that talked, I took it apart, took out the speech box, reprogrammed it and attached it to the toilet. When someone sat on the toilet seat, a voice would say "Hey, you! Would you please move! I'm trying to work down here and your blocking my only light!". My mom didn't think it was too funny...but my step dad laughed his ass off.

I think that was a very cool thing to do. I'm sure some will put them in a drawer or frame, and show them to you in 10 years. At that time they will probably mean alot more to you. My grandma gave me a tractor I played with when I was two, it now rests on top of my mantle...I plan to pass it on to one of my children.

In 10 years I hope to be a financial analyst on wall street and in 12 years I hope to hold a high position in Goldman Sachs. After I retire from wall street a millionaire I plan to start a weapons company that will sell weapons to the US Army. :P That would be awesome and I hope that is what I end up doing with my life.

There's more to life than money man, financial security is just the very beginning to success, not the end...you'll see. Remember I said that. Looking into the eyes of the girl your plan to marry, holding your newborn child for the first time along with watching them crawl, walk, talk for the first time...acquiring your first home as a family, experiencing christmas as a family...among other times. Those are things money just can't buy. Again, you'll see.

I know it's not all about the money, but it plays a big role in the kind of life I want to live. The weapons company isn't all about the money either, it's about providing defense for America and technology for our troops.

To each is own I guess. On the way to accomplishing my dreams and goals, I learned things and traveled down roads I never planned on going down...but I imagine any experience is a helpful experience if we learn from it. It would be nice if we had an America we could spend more time feeding and teaching, then defending and killing over. But we all have to choose our own path I suppose. I guess what I'm saying is, you don't need just weapons to defend America. It can be done by teaching our kids, buy building our infrastructure and building our relations among the world. We've already got the best weapons, I fail to see where it's got us on that alone(though i'm sure its helped). Having weapons technology is not near as important as how we intent to use it. So far, since WWII anyway, i'm not impressed.

Trust me, Goldman Sachs, along with every other investment bank will be gone in the next 5 years. Be an analyst or for an energy or agriculture company, or a commodities broker.. The business cycle is leaning towards commodities, not equities, for a long time.

Anyway, I don't want anything.. I never really ask for anything. My wife and I really didn't get much for eachother, we got mostly a family gift in the form of a 42' HDTV. Of course we bought our daughter a bunch of stuff though :P

That is a huge T.V! 42 feet! :P

Anyway i'm hoping to get A Xbox360, digital camera, a new Ipod, or a new laptop. I know that I'm only getting one or two of the four though, too expensive :P

I have no clue what to give my family... I'm very uncreative (is that a word?) and I am 13 so I am broke. :P

I'm pretty much broke too...managed to get my girlfriend some stuff from American Eagle, which she was happy about. Got my best friend a book on how to survive in the music industry, because that's basically his plan in life. And for my mom, a digital photo frame. That's pretty much all I had money to get, when I have some more I'll get my dad a late christmas present. As for what I want, hoping for a 12 string acoustic guitar :D I could definately be happy getting that and nothing else.

12 strings have a real nice sound. Stairway to heave sounds awesome on one.

In a perfect world, I'd like to receive either a used car, an ipod, or Xbox360. But since my dad is too practical and his ideas for Christmas presents are just boring and make me either want to rip my hair out or write a letter to Santa asking what did I do to deserve boring christmas presents such as clothes :P, I'll at least be satisfied knowing that I'll be receiving new stereos for my computer.

My Christmas gifts for my family are still somewhere out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean traveling slowly on a boat. They should be here within a month or so!

I didn't expect much this Christmas, nor was I too disappointed in that regard. The economy sucks, my family is tightening the proverbial purse-strings, and all I really want for Christmas is to get back over to Korea and to start making money again! Soon, soon...

I really didnt receive much this year...some jeans, AE shirts, and a game. But this year probably gave a lot....gave alot to my girlfriend though. Maybe the 300$ in gifts will go far with me. ^_^

You have an XBox and you need a DVD player?

Also, Doom 3 was a sweet game. I played that and the expansion. It reminded me of a freakishly atmospheric update of the originals, and then I unlocked the originals and played them on the XBox, too! Have fun with that. And I wouldn't advise playing it all through the night with the lights out and the volume turned way up! Creepy game!

My wife and I gave our daughters new ipods and digital cameras , plus some other assorted gifts. We also still get money from family members so my wife bought a new rotisserie (sp) oven and I bought an xbo360.
