Hm...seems like ford might not need the bailout they're asking for if they could use similar factories in the US...but I guess that would be too easy...

Companies? No.. Greedy unions suck. Greedy companies stay in business and keep people employed.

This. Unions had their place 100 years ago when 14-hour workdays and zero safety equipment was the norm in factories. Today, it ensures that no-talent, lazy bums get $70 an hour, 1-hour lunch breaks, 4 15-minute breaks (so nobody has to work an ungodly two hours at a time), and a job for life if they don't start murdering or raping coworkers. When I was working in Rockford, the union did some stupid shit. Such as almost causing a strike because the company wouldn't put the union's flag above the VPP (OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program) flag and the company flag on the flagpole. Such as filing grievances if someone were to run down to shipping to pick up a high-priority object that wouldn't make it up to the lab for a week if the union material handlers were to move it. Such as expecting to be treated like royalty after all of the above...unions today do little more than ensuring their members are on the gravy train for life without having to make any effort at all.

Unions still have their place in ensuring that companies don't take advantage of workers, but they've used the power that was intended to protect and used it to feed their personal greed. They were intended to be a counter to corporate greed and in the process developed greed of their own.

So they are just as bad yes?

My father and his co-workers wages were frozen for 3 years because the union said he was "overpaid". They made this conclusion by using data that was over 10 years old, and from another state. The union then negotiated that the money that would've been given to his department be given to another department that is seen as a lazy money hole by everyone else that works for the state.

Humanity, in general, sucks. We give people what they want because they dress it up with pretty words like "equality" and "fairness", when the best word to describe it is "greed", while true equality is left in a ditch to die.

don't worry son, that kinda problem could only arise in America, I most of the world unions have a place but only in certian industries.
