Ok... spurred by a conversation I oversaw earlier, I was going to download IE7. For giggles, I looked at the boards using FireFox first and noticed a stark difference.

The smaller window in the center of the screen is IE and the main window is FF. Can you see the difference in the lettering on "The Legion." Secksi.
So, what is better in the end.. i've never really used FF all that much except to view my nation with Woody's Calc.

That looks like IE6 Melidan...
The reason why the image looks better in Firefox is because of the support for .png transparent images. IE7 has this, so it doesn't look quite so bad. You'll notice the same thing in my signature image, which is PNG transparent. IE will screw it up, Firefox will render it correctly. I use Firefox for my web browsing though.

Obviously, I use firefox. However, I keep IE around now because Netflix wont work with firefox. It would be such a glorious day if it did.

I still use IE6, though I also have Firefox. My version of firefox hasn't been updated/upgraded in months, however.

fire fox is you better choice because it blocks a lot more pop ups the ie does and their is a lot more you can do with fire fox compare to ie

Firefox is head and shoulders (and chest, abdomen, knees, toes, and foot fungus) above IE in any category you wish to compare, except that there are still some services (like Netflix, some school pages, occasionally online billing services for utility companies) that are IE-only. A really super-duper helpful add-in for Windows FF users is IE Tab. It allows you to cruise sites in IE, but IE is only another tab in FF (the websites you visit are totally fooled, however). Sadly, IE Tab doesn't work with Macs, but I don't come across enough IE-only sites to really care.

I started using FF a year and a half ago when I was more actively pursuing a degree in web design. FF supports web standards soooooo much more fully than IE. A person is much more likely to see a web page as it was intended through FF than with IE.

I'm a Firefox person, though because I run OSX Tiger I use Camino and Safari 3 (which is way better than the previous versions) on occasion.

1. Firefox is better with web standards by a mile.
2. Ad-block. The ability to block all ads. I don't know how anybody could surf without this add on installed. Really.

Your Internet explorer is actually IE6 sp2..
If it's security you crave aswell as speed..
you want firefox..
If you want something that's about as airtight as a screen door,
& have tons to spend on anti-virus, then you want IE7..
Firefox is light and fast, small footprint..
IE7 has the foot print of a T-Rex & gobbles up resources..
I use Linux & BSD so my choice is made for me.. FireFox..
Here's IE7..

o/ Firefox
I too used the FF3 beta, but I liked my addons too much so I reverted as well.
IE = epic fail. No argument.

One of my buddies has a problem where Firefox forces a change on his screen resolution. Custom built comp, so his problem. But Firefox does have problems for some.
