Thought I would post a few things I've made over the years here, mostly sigs.

That one's APNG, so if you don't have Opera or FF you won't be able to see the animation. GIF makes the glow look horrible, so it wasn't an option.

This was actually pseudo-propaganda for NPO during the war, NPO being Advance War's Orange Star (Red Star if you're a purist) and their opponents being Black Hole, the antagonists of AW. It functions perfectly well as a standalone piece because of lack or text or flags, so I've used it in general on other sites as well.

This one was pretty simple to make, but I've always liked it. Battletech/MechWarrior for the win.

This was made on request for Jens. It was my first time making such a long animation, and my first time trying animated typing text. It took way longer to figure out an efficient method for that than it should have.

This one's reeeeaaaaallly old, holy crap. One of my first. I'll dig up my first sometime so you can laugh. I think I made it in Paint.

Decided to revisit my Megaman sig theme. The white bird in the corner is GOD's emblem from our flag, though I had to use a bit of trickery to get the 8-bit look. The pixelize filter was a good start, but it lacked definition. So I drew it out pixel by pixel, using the altered emblem to get an idea for the general shape. I made it after the Heatman one, so it doesn't have it, though I might throw it in.

I'll dig up more later, and some non-forum graphics too.

do you have any one program you use or do you mix and match with what you have/need???

Personally i've been thinking more about short animations/films recently but am finding myself tripped up at times with photoshop.

I usually use GIMP for my static work, with Fireworks for finishing details like borders, text, etc. Some I do it entirely in Fireworks. Animations I always do in Fireworks. I've tried animations in GIMP but never got them to work right. I think I used GIMP for the Gundam request and "Deal with it" background images though.

I never really got Photoshop either, but I've pretty much nailed down Fireworks well enough for my purposes. I actually learned it before it was an Adobe property, when Macromedia owned it. I use Fireworks CS4 now though.

I like it. It reminds me of the Zune firmware. Unfortunately there's no easy way to screenshot that so I'll just show you the Zune software.

Zune firmware has white text which is much more prominent, but still frequently partially hidden and scrolling across the screen. It is on a black background though, whereas the software is more colorful like yours, and if you give it time it'll use a similar color palette.

Also, here's a basic wallpaper (http://i.imgur.com/HDFOI.png). My desktop is frequently filled with icons, so less detail looks better. :v

I would have gone all out on the knees to be honest

as for what to use i only got photoshop a few days before what you see in the intial posts. its not exaclty what i was expecting...

but there is hope.

This is our flag I edited for my own purposes, purple to show my roots, and the diagonal line instead of two vertical because, well, I had to change something and that looked nice. :v I'm sure it means something to flag people, but I'm not a huge expert on heraldry and vexillology. Also have a standard maroon one:

Nice work!

I've never tried animation but I love photoshop and my topic is my progression from sig to sig. It's quite amazing to look at beginning to end as well as the progress you make with each project as you learn new features.

Very nice work Locke. I have tried on several occasions to do animated work, but I am lost within seconds and can never figure it out, and I am the type of person to tinker with one thing for days to figure it out myself instead of asking for help or reading a guide on it so sadly I have yet to figure it out.. Though I do think I do some pretty neat static image work with my Paint.NET. :P
