Mass Effect

So yeah, I recently purchased an additional GIG of RAM(So I could play Crysis) and I stumbled upon Mass Effect at my local EB Games store. Curiously, I bought that mofo, and played it. Along with Crysis, it pretty badly dented my hard drive(seeing as Mass Effect alone took up over 10 gigs -_-)

DUDE! This game rocks...shooting fools has never been so fun in an MMO, unless they added guns to Oblivion, which would essentially be the same thing. I must admit, I was initially drawn to the box because of the infamous sex scene, but I still haven' gotten that far, unless its at the start, then I completely missed it(Seeing as my intent was to shoot fools instead of get laid, which was a close 3rd(MONEY!))

So, who else plaid this game, and impressions? ALSO! I need to get an external harddrive because Mass Effect 2(Soon, but not really soon) will be out soon, eventually....in about a year..ish...and I have like 5 gigs left on my HD >_>

The "sex scene" was indeed in the start, and it's not really anything scandalous.

I, too, have it for 360 and the story is unbelievably awesome. You will enjoy the game immensely. Also, I thought "the sex scene" was at the end, and only if you play as a female character and get close to Dr. T'soni. Which is of course how I did things on my second time playing through the game. :)

Nah, you can do the sex scene as a male with Dr. T'soni, too. I played it through twice, but you only get to tap alien ass, not the human girl. (I tried both 'cause that's how I roll) :(

Oh well. Mass Effect is supposed to be a trilogy. I can't wait for the second installment.

I have the game for Xbox 360, I played through it about 5 times (achievements!). Great storyline, a good combat system and plenty of dialogue to keep a player engaged. It really is a shining achievement for BioWare, besides KOTOR, because it really defines itself as one of the best RPGs for the 360, as well as PC. I only wish that ME had more downloadable content, because a single DLC pack didn't really do it. I have much hope for Mass Effect 2, I only hope that they add enough changes to distinguish the game from the first title. Some sequels seem doomed to fail when they have such big shoes to fill (KOTOR 2, R6V2 for example).

No, I fucked Ashley. I played as a human soldier and she was in my party the whole time and at the end I gave it to her.

You didn't like KOTOR 2? I thought it was pretty good.
KOTOR 2 had a weak storyline, nothing could really fill the void left by the first game. Nothing in the game really stood out...the enemies weren't memorable. Darth Nihlus or whatever? He didn't talk, had virtually zero backstory and killing him wasn't even any fun. You stick a character on the cover of the game, they had better play a major role in it. Fail.

Is mass effect like counter strike?
No. Mass Effect is nothing like Counter Strike. RPG vs. FPS. Only common element they share are guns, other than that, nothing is similar.

Yeah, I was an unstoppable juggernaut on my second play-through: I had the Mark X versions of all the weapons, the Colossus X armor....plus all the badass equipment for Garrus and Wrex...

Yeah, I was an unstoppable juggernaut on my second play-through: I had the Mark X versions of all the weapons, the Colossus X armor....plus all the badass equipment for Garrus and Wrex...

I only really used Kaiden and Ashley, until I got Liara. I dunno what it is, but making people float is just cool as hell, plus Ashley is a fracking TANK in heavy armor and shield boosts. SHES INSANE! :drill:

Yeah, Wrex is pretty much the same. I still got most of the kills, though. :)

KOTOR 2 had so much potential, but they rushed it out of the gate.

90% of the ending scenes were cut out from the game, and we got a weak ending.
