Actually, I know nothing of Starcraft. I got the flag idea from a magazine ad for Supreme Commander 2, and the name comes from Star Trek... but I'm not using any thematic elements, I just thought the image looked cool.

I'd like to issue a big thank you to everyone involved along the way that got me and this alliance to this point.

Apparently I'll never hear the end of this.

I gave due credit in the quote Abas showed.

The word terra means earth in Latin, therefore it can be seen in a number of sci-fi works including Star Trek, StarCraft, original Battlestar Galactica, and others. Its use does not automatically tie them together as they are each their own thing. In StarCraft, I do not believe they are called Empire.

I decided to use the name because the avatar I have been using for over a decade is the symbol of the Terran Empire from Star Trek (1968) which predates any other use of the word in science fiction that I know of. The fact that I have used this avatar for over ten years, I believe predates the original StarCraft game.

As I said, my alliance is not intended to be thematic anyway.

My embassy here? Far as I can tell, no one has looked at it, they just keep posting on this thread.

How active is my forum? Pretty active lately for an alliance of my size.

Not to be anal, but we use the abbreviation TTE, because TE is Tournament Edition. Everyone does it wrong at first. I'll I can do is keep telling people until it sticks like we all learned that Polar has a little p.
