Yeah saw the Cod5 trailer for the first time on TV a couple of days ago. It looked pretty awesome and gruesome to say the least. They are fightin in the Pacific in this one against Japan. I think this may be their best game yet, although many have tried to make good WWII pacific games and failed...

Call of Duty should have learned from CoD4 and continued in the present or future rather than try to make yet another WW2 game. Fail.

I tend to agree with Imperial. WWII is kind of played out now.

In my opinion, they did too much Europe and not enough Russia/Japan (saying how Call of Duty never did the Pacific Theater) so I accept their decision.

I like the idea. I loved COD4, but they can't do modern forever, and then they swap to Future, which just f*cking ruins a game. Just like 2142, which still gets killed by BF2. Future warfare games suck.
On a side note, Infinity Ward is already hard at work on COD6. We should prolly see it by next summer, maybe fall, depending on how they work.

I'm with the girl...BF2 owns 2142 and future sucks :P

I dont think infinty ward could pull of a future game but i am sick of WW2 games...turning point fall of liberty ruined it for me

I would have liked to see a US/China CoD game.. Meh. We'll see how this one is..

U.S. versus China would be interesting; technology vs. numbers...

I recently read that CoD5 will be the Russian theater of war along with the Pacific, so I am pleased (I'm obsessed with Russia for some reason)
Also, Endwar looks pretty sexy to me, especially the voice-command system they have worked out

I reckon Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
is the new benchmark for FPS. Apart from Crisis. Ive got both of them, and R6V2 has sweet gameplay, especially being able to customise your character

I hope this will be the last ever Call of Duty game. If so, it's nice to see they've gone back to their roots before closing up shop. Hopefully they'll make the Soviet missions less of a headache to play, and they'll do better in the Pacific than Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault.
Man, I haven't played a Pacific War related game since Battlefield 1942.

Agreed. Crysis has the sick visuals and some interesting emergent gameplay (a coworker bought it on my recommendation, loves it - and I've never played it) but R6V2 has the whole package, especially with the latest game upgrade.
