View Full Version : iPhone 4 might have design flaw

There appears to be a vocal minority of users reporting that the new iPhone 4s are almost unusable because of a problem with the phone signal connectivity. Supposedly when the phone is held around the metal band on the edge of the phone (which serves as its antenna), the signal quality is drastically reduced.
One theory is that the hand may inadvertently form a connection between the wifi antenna and the cellular antenna causing problems. Some videos show the phones to be fine no matter how they are held or how tightly, but there is definitely some kind of issue Apple will need to address. Might have just been on factory of defects...

And problem appears to have been confirmed. If a person holds the phone relatively tightly in the left hand, iPhone 4 will immediately have signal degradation and eventually the call will be dropped. Depends on how the phone is held, but signal loss is there.
Good job Apple, great antenna you got there!
Edit: Apple's response to all this? You're holding it wrong.
Other complaints are yellow tints on the screens of some of the phones, glass rear panel cracking and scratching of the front screen. Wow.

Sounds like some people can't take care of their phones.
My iPhone drops way too many calls. It's starting to piss me off.
