One of my all time favorite movies growing up... Still watch it every couple of months on DVD.

The US Aircraft Carrier Nimitz is transported back in time to December 6, 1941, staring down the Japanese fleet approaching Pearl Harbor... What will they do?!!!

Arcadian, "Tora! Tora! Tora!" was about Japan's attack on the island Midway and their subsequent asskicking for their troubles (Another one my dad took my little/only brother and me to see in theaters). I agree with your assessment of "Pearl Harbor." It's more of a "chick flick" than a war movie. But if I say that too loudly, my wife is gonna make life miserable for me for a while. :ph34r:

Man, I remember watching this movie when I was a kid!

...remember when the air craft carrier scrambled their fighters and they were en route to smash the Japanese....then all of a sudden the gate opened, and there was that eerie howl and they were almost to the Japanese attack group, but they didn't have any time left and had to....

.....shit. That movie was freakin' awesome.

I just finished watching it and it seemed more like an extended episode of the Twilight Zone than anything else - that isn't a bad thing, I still really liked the movie. It would have been really cool to see the Japanese strike force get owned by Phoenix missiles though...

I just finished watching it. I had heard of it but never saw it, so sat down and stared at that tiny 400 pixel youtube box and watched. Not bad but should have ended with some American 0wnage!
