May 30, 2008 - Ubisoft will hold a private beta for its upcoming real-time strategy console game Tom Clancy's EndWar (http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/902/902336.html) this summer to help ready the title for its scheduled October launch. Xbox 360 gamers with an Xbox Live gold membership, a broadband Internet connection and 3 GB of free hard drive space are invited to apply at the official Ubisoft EndWar beta Web site (https://www.endwarbeta.com/signup/default.html). The beta will run for a three-week period in June and July and will feature three maps playable only online in 1v1 and 2v2 matches.

EndWar takes place in 2020, after strained resource supplies bring the nations of the world to war. In EndWar, players represent one of three national armies (U.S. Russia or Europe) and participate in massive multiplayer battles. There was an EndWar-related disk that came with R6V2, I should look at that a little more closely. But 3 gigs....Jesus H. Tapdancing Christ that's a lot.

Edit: The disk only has previews, but I'm dangerously close to signing up for the beta....I suppose I could halt my quest to finally finish reading all of the Jack Ryan books to quick read EndWar as well.
