Here's a question I got from trolling around.
$1 million to the first person who can get this right!
This'll be a regular thing, one of my regular services to the Legion.
This week's queston is:
A bottle of wine costs $10.
The wine itself costs $6 more than the bottle.
What is the value of the bottle of wine?
---
First person to get it correct will win $1 million!

Bottle = $10
Wine = $6+x
X = cost of bottle itself.
So, 6+x+x=10
6+2x=10
2x=4
x=2
The bottle itself is valued at $2

$10
Edit: ok, how I got there.
A bottle of wine costs $10.
The wine itself costs $6 more than the bottle.
What is the value of the bottle of wine?
tis a riddle, tis asking for "value of the bottle of wine" which is told to be $10 as it says "bottle of wine costs $10" therefore is $10. the other bit is nonsense made to confuse you.

If the whole thing is $10 and the wine inside is $6, the bottle with nothing in it would be $4. Ja?

No, the bottle with nothing in it would be $2. Look at ShadowPhoenix's working out.
Kudos to Isaac of Trek for realising 'twas a riddle.

Word games and math don't mix. I swear if I see another one of these, I ought to just lock it. First that FISH question, now this.

I have to make it hard...so that the first person who comes along doesn't automatically get it right.
Anyways, I'm making this week's one a little easier.
