Man, that was effed up...I was already aware of most of the bad stuff, but haven't really had to watch it rapid fire like that. I saw Fast Food Nation about a year ago. Things are a mess, but almost everyone eats meat and that's where all that meat comes from, like it or not. I respect when people choose vegetarianism, but it would be too hard for me I think and over here in Korea, it would be downright impossible pro'ly!
Idk. Last week I ate 보 신 탕, or Dog Meat Soup. It was kinda strange cuz I've never eaten dog before, but part of how I justified it to myself was by remembering how horrifically we treat food animals back in the west, too. Honestly, it didn't taste bad at all, although it had dog muscle, fat, and skin in it...!

But one still enjoys a good prime rib, baby back ribs, sausage, beef tips, head cheese, pork hocks, and other meat products.

A video isn't going to change the fact that bacon is tasty. I doubt a lion feels particularly guilty when it eats a wildebeest, or concerns itself with its food's pre-digestion quality of life.

I'm currently participating the the World's Largest Trivia contest and we got ourselves about 10 pounds of Arby's roast beef for sandwiches. It's awesome.

Even as disgusting as it looks, is still a living thing. On the bottom of the food chain, Ment to be eaten. Plus is cooked...hopefully. If it was raw then it will be different, but cooked meat, kills a lot of bacteria.

That video just inspired me to eat MORE meat.
Meat...is there anything it can't do? Yes.

Haven't eaten meat for 14 years, but not a fanatic about it. Though you should really check out the statistics for bowel cancer for red meat eaters.

Meat can cure depression. And cancer. And aids. And if meat could form a fist, it could punch out God. So if meat is able to beat God... Then Meat>God.
Meat = God

I am not a big meat eater and really only eat beef, but to justify that I just tell myself I am helping stop global warming another cow died because I am eating the beef, cows of course are the largest producers of greenhouse gases by power of the gas released. Methane is 20 times as powerful as CO2 and cows produce a lot of methane.
But I eat mostly fish anyway so why should what I say matter.

The only reason that cows exist in large enough numbers to threaten the ozone layer is because they are bred in massive numbers to feed people like you (and me) who eat them. Eating them to save the ozone while supporting the business that overproduces them is very circular logic, methinks! :D

little known cow fact. They don't fart methane, they burp it. True story. Said so on QI.

Quiet! I like my circular logic. Yes it doesn't work but it helps me feel good about eating the meat.
But I don't have meat that often anyway, I'll stick with my fish.

You know, Sushi-mania is rapidly depleting the world's fisheries, too. :icon_eek:

And if Stephen Fry says it, it must be true. The guy is gospel.
On the subject of meat, while I must admit that battery food is regrettable it is also cheap and tasty. That balances it out for me.

It is bad for the animals, but I wonīt stop eating meat.
There are people who canīt afford expensive bio meat, they have to buy that cheap meat.
So I think it wonīt be changing that quick either.
